The Mahindra Thar 2020 is the newly launched version of the Thar that has been one of the iconic models for Mahindra which has redefined the segment of off-road vehicles in India. The Model has contributed consistently towards the Branding of Mahindra, although it has been known by many names as MM540, Classic, Legend it has inspired off-road enthusiasts for decades. And with the recent facelift, now it looks more stunning and attractive. This reveals that the company is shifting focus to mainstream buyers as well for a broader market base.

Powertrain

Mahindra Thar 2020 comes with a 2.0-liter mStallion petrol engine with 6-speed AMT which produces 152 BHP and 320 NM of torque. A 2.2-liter mHawk diesel engine with both 6-speed MT. And a 6-speed automatic torque converter producing 132 BHP and 300 NM of torque.

Exterior

The exterior of the Mahindra Thar 2020 is quite a contemporary style, which is designed to match the likes of the modern community. Although it resembles the Jeep Rubicon it has its own stylish ques to distinguish it. Like the Horizontal slabs for the front grille, sloping bonnet, larger bumpers. There are massive wheel arches flaunting its 18″ inch wheel with 255/66 section tires. The ground clearance is 226 mm. And the water weighting capacity is 650 mm. At the rear, there is a tail-mounted spare wheel and a short overhang for those high departure angles.

Interior

The Mahindra Thar 2020 interior is more modern with a carbon fiber-like inserts, steering mounted controls, and cruise control. It also packed with a 7″ inch touch screen infotainment, tire pressure monitoring system, rear parking sensors. The Thar is offered with both a hardtop and soft top which can be removed if needed. On the safety front, it has dual Airbags, ISOFIX child seat mounts, and ESP with rollover mitigation.

Price

We can expect the launch to be in October this year. And the estimated price of Thar in India might be between 12 and 15 Lakhs Rupees (**Actual prices are not revealed yet**)
