Virtual Reality Of Crypto Investments – Pros and Cons

The reality of Crypto Investments – The cryptocurrency market seems to be growing in popularity every day and you might be searching for the best crypto investments in 2022. However, the actual reality isn’t the one you are looking for. The recent crash of cryptocurrencies including bitcoin is continuing.

The current price of bitcoin has plunged to USD 18,993, witnessing one-third depreciation while the price hiked up to USD 65,000 last November 2021. You might have seen statistical data and reports on this one-year-wide 75% major crash which wiped about USD 200 Billion from the global crypto market.

Have you ever thought about where this USD 200 Billion gone? Did some entity got benefitted from this wipe-out? Did someone get the “lost” billions in their accounts? or, Did it just disappear from the market just like how it happened when “Thanos” snapped? Here is an overview to give you understanding on the reality.

    THE REALITY OF Crypto Investments

Let’s say, you bought a share of Apple Inc. at USD 140. Later when the share price decreased to USD 100 you sold it to avoid more loss in future. Now you have lost your USD 40. Where do you think you lost USD 40 go? Did your stock broker or the next person who buys the stock get that 40? No, It doesn’t.

Also read – The Kanban of an Investor – Plan To Be Rich

Let’s take another example, You were planning to buy a stock of Alphabet Inc. at USD 2200, and before you decide to buy it, the stock falls to USD 2000. Looking at the sudden drop in the price, You quickly bought the share at USD 2000. You can think that you saved that USD 200, but you didn’t earn USD 200 profit either. It has to move up higher in order to generate profits.

If you sell a stock for a loss, the next person who buys the stock at that lower price doesn’t benefit from your loss. He must hold the stock until it rises to make a profit. The companies that issued these stocks also didn’t benefit from the loss you have made. So where did the money go?

According to Marvel Cinematic Universe when Thanos snapped, half of the world population just vanished into thin air. Where did they go? They were wiped out and disappeared from the face of the Earth. Just like that, the money lost in the market actually disappears irrespective of crypto markets or share markets.

    Implicit value and Explicit value

There are two terms that you need to consider while trying to understand this phenomenon. The Implicit and Explicit Value of an asset. The implicit value of an asset changes with the people’s perception of a stock/asset. For example, when TATA Motors announced and introduced its EV lineup, which outperformed the expectation of its consumers, will improve the implicit value of the stock over that of Mahindra or Maruti, or its competitors. It is just a pure and basic concept of demand and supply of assets.

When this faith or emotion undergoes a change, it will reflect in the implicit value and the stock price follows a similar trend. This is literally true in the case of crypto.

The value of crypto is determined by the people’s perception of its underlying technology and market sentiments. The best example of the decade is the DOGE coin. Its value increased when Elon Musk, CEO of Tesla and SpaceX tweeted about it on Twitter.

The Explicit value of an asset depends on the actual value of the company according to its accounting value in its books, also known as Book Value or Intrinsic Value. Book value or Explicit value of a company or an entity can be defined as the difference between its assets and liabilities.

Also read – Inflation – Is it Good or Bad?

To make it further clear, consider this real scenario, the total number of shares of TATA Motors is 332 Crore shares. If the value of TATA Motors shares drops by INR 1, it would be equivalent to losing more than INR 332 Crores in its implicit value. Still, the company has many assets and the change didn’t take place in its explicit value. When the stock/crypto price plunges it indicates that the demand for that particular stock has decreased among the investors at least for some time.

    The Reality in Cryptoverse

The harsh reality of the crypto world is that there is no explicit value for a cryptocurrency moreover if you check the book value of bitcoin is Zero. Its value is due to the hope in the disruptive underlying technology.

Based on this speculation the value of the cryptocurrency changes. To the principles of supply and demand, when there is a high demand which outnumbers the number of newly mined bitcoins, this pushes the market price for bitcoin. Since there is only a limited supply of Bitcoin (21 million coins produced by the year 2140, 19 million coins are currently circulating till now) value of bitcoin is interlinked to the total quantity.

If everyone finds bitcoin to be a rare collectible and starts buying it will raise the market price. If many people holding a huge quantity of bitcoin sell their coins, then the markets will be flooded with bitcoins, and the supply of the coin increases, which in turn reduces the value. Just like now, huge amounts (in billions) will be simply wiped out. This applies to all traded assets and collectibles.

The tailpiece; As per triple-a, India has the highest number of crypto holders at 100 million. The United States has the most Bitcoin trading volume on exchanges followed by Russia, Nigeria, the EU, and China. Most bitcoins are owned by Satoshi Nakamoto, the anonymous creator of bitcoin (above one million holdings in a single account).

Since the intrinsic value of crypto is zero, what if the entire crypto market (USD 1 trillion) is wiped out? Will the world slumps into a Financial Recession? Let us hope that time will prove everything!!

    Suicide – A Social Fact

Suicide – A Social Fact | Common sense vs Sociological thought

There will always be a contradictory outlook between common sensical notions and sociological thoughts. “Common” in the word “common sense” means the minimum body of knowledge that one is expected to possess in order to deal with everyday situations. We derive common sense from our past experience or from parental and societal pedagogies.

    Venn diagram of Suicide

The issue with common sense is our experiences are limited. Sometimes our interpretations of experiences can be biased. ‘A human sees what he wants to see, and hears what he wants to hear’ (Blind man and elephant, see fig.). He simply seeks answers which are very easy to understand and implement. We always tend towards certainty rather than experimentation.

    Suicide - A Social Fact - Just A Library

Sociology tried to address this problem scientifically. The most fundamental emphasis of sociology is on “THINGS ARE NOT WHAT THEY SEEM”. Sociological studies were/are supplementing/refuting the naturalistic explanations(which are made with the help of common sense) with proper scientific theorizations and observable patterns.

    Sociological Study Of Suicide

From the time of memory, suicide was established as a psychological fact. Suicide hardly excited any natural scientist except psychologist. Sociologists took up the study of suicide after the industrial revolution with empirical data from various coroners in West Europe. Sociologists tried to tie various suicides to prevailing social conditions.

    I quit

Animal societies do not sustain for a long time they are based on instincts. Animals live for survival and don’t develop any noticeable conscience. Human society, on the other hand, is sustainable and continuous because it has its foundation on shared ideas and collective conscience. Now, what is collective conscience? It is nothing but beliefs and sentiments which are common to average members of society. Each and every individual is conditioned to act according to that conscience. The government and various institutions (like law, police, etc..) are created to maintain and legitimize the collective conscience of a society.

When people deviate (crime, suicide, etc..) from collective conscience and assert their own, such a situation is called Anomie. For example, Iraq, Nigeria, Syria, Yemen are going through high anomic phases where deviance of individuals from acceptable norms is very high (ISIS, Boko Haram, etc..).

Also Read – The Power of Self Destruction

Some key findings of the study

Suicides are considered as social facts by sociologists. They tried to study it at a societal level and not at an individual level. We might come across certain personal problems like (unemployment, relationship troubles etc..) for committing suicide, but if we observe carefully, we can find out societal patterns that have their share of cause. Sociologists, when studied the historical records, found some patterns in suicides.

    1. Rate of suicide in Protestants  > Rate of suicide in Catholics
    2. Rate of suicide in men > Rate of suicide in women
    3.  Unmarried > Married
    4.  Suicide during peacetime >  Suicide during wartime

Protestants led a movement against Catholics and rejected all the doctrines proposed by Catholics. Protestant countries developed free inquiry of religion and scientific facts, freedom to question, abolished hierarchy in the church system. On the other hand, Catholics were people who readily accepted faith taught by the church, believed in a hierarchy in the church system, and followed certain rules strictly like visiting the church every Sunday.

With all this, solidarity among Catholics is more, and therefore suicide rate was very low compared to protestants who suffered from a lack of solidarity and lack of social contact.

During two world wars, this world may have lost billions of currencies and millions of lives, but interestingly the suicide rate was very low in war times. People developed a sense of solidarity in standing with their nation and their mind was preoccupied with a sense of nationality which pushed aside their personal level hardships.

    Suicide - A Social Fact - Just A Library
    Suicide - A Social Fact

It was also observed that people who involve in kinship and sexual relationships with others, the suicide rate was less. Unmarried are more prone to suicides than married.

With all the above empirical data we can build some theories. It is visible that suicides are always influenced by not only personal traumas but also prevailing social and religious conditions. We can build an equation with available information.

    Suicides ∝  1/solidarity

There are multiple factors and multiple causes that influence society and individuals. It is not possible for us to study all at once. Therefore, we bring down the parameters to 2. They are:

    • Integration ( Religion, Relations, family, etc..)
    • Regulation (Govt, police, law, etc..)

“More of anything is poison, less of anything is injustice”. Therefore, any of the above if more or less for a person becomes a potential reason to commit suicide.

     Classification of Suicides

    Suicide - A Social Fact - Just A Library
    Suicide - A Social Fact
    • Fatalistic suicide – committed by slaves, war prisoners, childless women
    • Anomic suicide – suicides during economic depressions, failed to achieve goals
    • Egoistic suicide – orphans, family-less persons, divorced
    • Altruistic suicide – suffering from disease, sati system

    Way Forward

Sometimes, the outcomes of the above theory will be different. People instead of committing suicide turn to crime, robberies, potential targets of radicalization, hunger, and rogues. This situation is always detrimental to society as a whole.

Sociological scientists never refuted the psychological causes of suicide but only tried to explain the social causes associated with it. Psychology and society each have their own share of causal effect to any suicide.

In this fast-moving world, society had become complex with low mutual cooperation and low emotional attachments. This kind of society will always have diluted solidarity which leads to less integration. There are parts and roles for each and every social institution in society to accept and facilitate the living of our fellow humans. Everybody is fighting a war about which we know nothing. We, as an evolved society, must act in an accommodative manner to ease the agony of fellow individuals. Until that happens, our society remains only as an evolved society, not a progressive one.

    Battle of Forced Marriages

Battle of Forced Marriages – Imagine you are in a movie theatre. Before you go in, you are craving for some cheesy caramel popcorn. So, you went to the counter and ordered it. However, the shopkeeper asked you to get the garlic bread and mayo. You politely rejected his suggestion and asked for the popcorn again. Now, he compels and threatens you to buy it. Now you don’t have a choice – It’s either his way or the highway. What would you do if this happens to you in real life? You will also find this dilemma at different crucial situations in your life. Many life decisions are to be taken at will, but when you have some people around it will be rather difficult to pursue what your will says.

What if this similar situation arises when you are about to choose your future or life partner? What if you are forced into it? How would you take it and how well would it go? We are sure many of you reading this article might have/had similar scenario and heard some of the below statements from people. For the unknown, we are listing some of those statements which might give you a clear understanding of what forced marriages are –

1.”You will learn to like each other”
2.”If you do/don’t do this, it will shame the family”
3.”We know what’s best for you”
4.”Either get married or be disowned”
5.”If you don’t do what we want, you’ll ruin your siblings’ lives”
6.”You need to do this for the family”
    7.”Do this for us/me”
8.”If you love us you’ll listen”
    9.”If you don’t marry… I will kill myself”

Also read – Suicide – A Social Fact

Love does involve some compromises and sacrifices but that’s not what we’re talking about here. The concept where he/she is demonized for saying ‘NO’ to the above circumstances. It is important to love your parents and put yourself and your future first. It’s not betraying them. We are often taught that love means sacrifice, that you can only really love someone if you put them and their needs ahead of your own. These two things are not mutually exclusive, you can love someone AND put yourself first. Many relationships end up much before they proceed to the marriage phase, by clearly not understanding this concept.

Being opinionated and questionable in real life is more considered ridicule than being over-submissive. When someone seems to reject or disavow the idea of arranged marriages and forced marriages, it is quickly pictured as a personal offense to the family including their parents and relatives. The concept of consent and coercion comes into conflict when there are parents involved in pressurizing the children to get committed.

    FORCED 1 – DIVORCED 1

When there is a marriage arranged, it should be arranged with mutual consent and transparency, the bride and groom have equal right to talk to each other. This basic condition should be made mandatory. There are still some people who believe that bride should only know more about the groom only after their marriage. Only if any of them finds reluctant to continue with the proposal can back out at that exact moment, instead of getting a divorce later. Speaking of which, some people believe ‘divorce is forbidden, and killing themselves is better. That’s a huge topic maybe for another time. Why is it that a person’s wishes are not given importance over family status and expectations?

Many parents tend to cross the limits, with this sense of entitlement to their children’s lives, which seems toxic indeed. People tend to see the physical and tangible assets and properties of a person and decide whether he or she is the best-suited partner for their child. Ignoring the attitude and conduct may seem fine at the early stages but can lead to many family problems and quarrels. Forced 1 – Divorced 1, the score is keeping up. The parent’s generation has never experienced the freedom of choosing their partners, because of the age-to-maturity characteristic.

Whereas the present generation has more knowledge-seeking experiences than the older generation. People tend to be more private in recent years due to the technology advancements. Earlier, most of our parents lead a proper offline social life, where each one in the society knows thoroughly about the other individuals. It seemed easy to get to know a person’s conduct by checking and enquiring about him to the dear and near. But this set of processes is not compatible with the current generation, because of their non-public lifestyle. Now it is difficult to know more about a person’s character than his tangible assets. It is always primarily this ‘compatibility’ that works well and makes a successful relationship. The rest of the factors are secondary and only have little influence in real life.

    Conflicts because of unsuccessful relationships

Money can come and go, a good mindset can go further beyond. Many parents in their younger age, might have adored some successful person with good financial stability and tried to bring that stability to their home. The new educated and qualified generation who grew up in this stable environment is now adoring people with a greater mindset and personal compatibility. The needs changed when the generation changed. It is not just a ceremony, it’s not just getting someone into their lives. It is about the loudness of mind, love, and conduct quality.

Marriages lasting longer in the earlier times were a result of improper education and financial dependence, which made them stay with their spouses, cruel in-laws, and insensitive parents. If you check the divorce rates for the past two decades have doubled rate of divorce, especially happening in urban and rural areas as well. These were the marriages that were arranged and partly forced, where the individuals never knew the outcomes of their marriage. When they get to taste the new culture creates deep cracks in the relationships later on. The newer generation got educated and become independent, with proper awareness of their rights.

Due to many prevailing stigmas in society, many parents are afraid to willingly give back the control of their child’s life to themselves. It might be because of some bad experiences they have faced in their earlier times. With this stigma, the mindset travels through the family lines until someone is ready to accept it in themselves. If the new generation is trying to replicate the same mindset that of their parents there won’t be much difference in the values in the society and social stigma. By the process of killing the stigma, we no longer pass the poison chalice onto the generations that follow.

Next time when you are at a family function and that annoying relative asks you ‘ Why don’t you marry the one your parents point out?’

Just say “Conjuctio Animorum” and farm out!!
(It’s just saying: the mutual consent of both parties to a marriage is required)

What is Monkeypox? Is Monkeypox Dangerous? – Causes and Symptoms

What is Monkeypox and where does it come from?

Monkeypox is a member of the poxvirus family, which includes smallpox. The virus was first discovered in monkeys in a Danish laboratory in 1958, hence the name Monkeypox. However, the virus does not originate in monkeys. Scientists are unsure, but it is thought to be spread by small rodents and squirrels in Africa’s rainforests.

The virus has two strains: Central African and West African. The Central African virus causes more severe infections and is more likely to result in death than the West African virus. The first human case of Monkeypox was diagnosed in 1970. Since then, the majority of infections have been concentrated in the Democratic Republic of the Congo and Nigeria.

What are the signs and symptoms of Monkeypox?

Even though Monkeypox is rare, it is now spreading across western countries. Early signs of Monkeypox can be flu-like symptoms such as fever, headaches, swellings, back pain, aching muscles. A rash with raised bumps appears one to three days later. The rash usually begins on your face and spreads to other parts of your body, including your palms and soles of your feet. The rash begins with flat, red bumps.

    What is monkeypox?
Image courtesy – What is monkeypox Google images

The bumps develop into blisters that fill with pus. However, the blisters crust over and fall off after a few days. The time between infection and the onset of symptoms, known as the incubation period, can range from five to 21 days. The illness usually clears up in two to four weeks.

    How can you catch Monkeypox?

Monkeypox can be transmitted to humans through animal bites or scratches. It can also spread through close contact with an infected person. The virus can enter the body through open wounds, the respiratory tract, or the eyes, nose, or mouth. You can also get it by coming into direct or indirect contact with virus-infected materials. Clothing, bedding, and other linens worn by an infected person are examples of these materials. Despite the fact that Monkeypox is not a sexually transmitted infection, some of the newly identified cases in Europe have been among gay and bisexual men.

Is Monkeypox Dangerous? Is Monkeypox curable?

Even though there is currently no proven safe treatment available, outbreaks can be controlled through infection prevention. Vaccination against smallpox has been shown to be 85 percent effective in preventing Monkeypox. Antiviral medications may also be beneficial, but they have not been studied as a treatment for Monkeypox.

Like I’ve mentioned before, the time between infection and the onset of symptoms, known as the incubation period, can range from five to 21 days. The illness are typically mild, and most people recover within two to four weeks.

Monkeypox Virus Outbreak 2022 in UK, USA, Canada and Europe

Whilst every nation is on high alert for new outbreaks after the COVID pandemic, there are several reasons why Monkeypox is not being treated with the same level of concern as the coronavirus.

But recently, The WHO declared monkeypox a global health emergency. This means that the outbreak is currently viewed as a significant threat to global health and a coordinated international response is required. More than 16,000 cases of monkeypox have been reported across more than 70 countries so far this year, and the number of confirmed infections rose 77% from late June through early July, according to WHO data.

Five deaths from the virus have been reported in Africa this year. But there were no deaths reported outside of Africa yet. The current monkeypox outbreak is spreading widely in North American and European nations where the virus is not usually found which is highly unusual. In the past, monkeypox has spread at low levels in remote parts of West and Central Africa where rodents and other animals carried the virus.

Europe is currently the global epicenter of the outbreak and has reported more than 80% of confirmed infections worldwide in 2022. The U.S. has reported more than 2,500 monkeypox cases so far across 44 states, Washington, D.C., and Puerto Rico. The United Kingdom reported a case of monkeypox in a person who recently returned from travel to Nigeria in early May. A couple of days later, the U.K. reported three more cases of monkeypox which appeared to have been infected locally.

It has to be noted that when WHO issued a global health emergency last time in January 2020 with regard to the Covid-19 outbreak, it was declared a pandemic two months later.

This article was published on 23rd May and was updated on 26th July.

The current Circuit de Barcelona Catalunya layout includes 16 turns and two DRS zones. This Spanish Grand Prix 2022 will feature 66 laps of racing action. The track layout was changed in 2021, with turn 10 being redesigned. The most controversial part of the track will be the turn 14 and 15 where drivers might lose the speed when competing against other drivers. However, if they could clear that, then they reach one of the DRS zones – the best overtaking opportunity, the main straight followed by the turn 1.

Honest Biotique Products Review – Are Biotique products good and useful?

Biotique Products Review – This is another article under the honest reviews section. If you guys have missed out on our previous articles click here. From the previous articles, you must have known that I’m obsessed with chemical-free products for skin and hair. Biotique Advanced Ayurveda is also one of my favourite brands when it comes to budget-friendly, trusted natural treatment products to restore the natural beauty of skin & hair.

Biotique products have gained large popularity over the years. There is a usual misconception that cost of the product is directly proportional to the good results of the product. Since these Biotique products are budget-friendly, many people still doubt the result of the products. The truth is it does miracles. Once you realize you have been using a natural, ayurvedic, preservative-free, cruelty-free product you will never feel to switch back to the other commercially popular brands with all chemical formulas. So Without further ado, let’s get into the Biotique products review.

    Disclaimer & Tips

    • All my reviews are based on my personal experience. Every product might not work the same way for every individual.
    • Every product needs its own time to show the results especially when it comes to natural products. Nothing happens overnight.
    • Don’t buy many products from a brand before knowing how it works on your skin. Buy a single product and use it for a few weeks to see the result before you decide anything.
    • One of the best things about Biotique product is that they come up with Minis (pocket-sized products) which you can buy to check if the product really works for you!

Biotique Sandalwood Sunscreen With SPF50+ Review

This is the first-ever sunscreen I used especially for my face. I did a lot of research to make sure I use a natural based sunscreen, which does not clog the pores leaving a oily look on the face. On the other hand, I needed it to protect my skin from the harsh UV rays in the high altitude treks! Trust me it satisfied my expectation 100%. No clogging, no oily skin, and absolute protection from the harsh UV rays! A must-try product!!

I use this daily to move the daily cream, kajal, or whatever makeup I have on my face before washing it off. This really helps in cleansing the pores and prevents my skin from break-outs due to make-up products. This also nourishes my skin. A must-try product!!

Biotique Winter Green Anti-acne Spot Correction Cream Review

This has a soothing smell like Vicks, Zandu balm. I used this regularly for a few weeks before sleep and I had good results. I’m not sure if the dark spots went off naturally or it was the effect of this cream. The good thing is there was no bad effect due to this cream.

5 Reasons Why Every Professional Must Have a LinkedIn Profile

At first sight, LinkedIn might appear like another social media profile that you will have to constantly check and engage with until you get bored. Apparently, it is something similar to Facebook, and Instagram. But if you’ve already got a LinkedIn profile, you know that this platform is quite different from others. Yes, I’m talking about networking – PROFESSIONAL NETWORKING.

So, what is professional networking and why it is important?

Well, let me answer it with a real-time example of how I started using LinkedIn. I know most of you reading this article will have a LinkedIn profile. But, how many of your’s are up to date? To be honest, I created my LinkedIn profile back in 2015 just because the personality development professor asked me to do so.

However, I quickly realized the importance of it and started to build my profile with new connections. Time flies, and I reached my final year of my bachelor’s. Yes, CAMPUS PLACEMENTS!! I attended countless campus interviews but ended up with nothing. The more interviews I attended, the lesser my hope of securing a job became, which is when I turned my focus to LinkedIn.

I sent cover letters to some of my network connections explaining my situation and requested an internship opportunity where I can gain some real-time experience as well as show them my technical skills for a full-time job.

Got some responses back and an internship opportunity as well. Months flew by and the company thought I was worthy enough to be offered a full-time position. And that’s how I got my first job🤩👏🏻.

I hope I’ve answered the question of why professional networking is important. I got my job not only because of my technical skills or academics but also because of my network connections from LinkedIn.

Facebook is all about brand and identity whether it is business or personal. Twitter is all about events or occurrences. But when it comes to LinkedIn, it is the best channel for engaging with people and organizations that could potentially help you to get a job.

According to Kinsta’s statistics, LinkedIn has nearly 700 million active users, as of 2021. With more than 30 million companies listed on the site and 20+ million open jobs, it’s no surprise that 87% of recruiters regularly use LinkedIn for recruitment. (source-kinsta)

#2 IT IS A PROFESSIONAL SEARCH ENGINE

5 Reasons Why Every Professional Must Have a LinkedIn Profile

LinkedIn is as much a search engine as Google, with more focus on finding professionals, recruiters, companies and jobs. It acts as the central repository hub to know about any organisation.

With more than 30 million companies listed on the site which I’ve mentioned earlier, it is the only social media where you can find every company’s recent activities, job openings, alumni from your school, products and services in a single place. Last but not least, recruiters use keywords to filter the best professionals, so it’s important to build your profile with relevant keywords for which you want you to be found.

#3 HELP YOU WITH MORE JOB OPPORTUNITIES

Talking about the obvious, LinkedIn is one of the best job portals to find a wide range of jobs. LinkedIn’s job alert feature will send you email notifications for certain companies, industries or specific job titles you’ve searched/requested so that you’ll never miss out on a great opportunity again. Also, it is probably the only place where you can get a message directly to the person doing the hiring via its InMail feature.

      #4 ENHANCE YOUR NETWORK CONNECTIONS

It is well-known fact that getting into any career depends on who you know more than what you know. You never know who will become your mentor/mentee or help you with job leads and business opportunities or even business partners. While it’s easy to lose a business card, a contact in LinkedIn will always be there and help you to build a virtual network of contacts. In short, LinkedIn is all about connections. Connections get you referrals, referrals get you hired.

Here are some statistics for you to know how handy referrals can be: Candidates who are referred to a job position by an employee have been hired about two-thirds of the time. More than 60% of employees have referred at least one person to an open job position within the company. 91% of referrals made by a director level or above were hired. 7 Easy Step Guide on How to Write a Targeted Resume For Any Job

How to Write a Targeted Resume

A resume is an important tool as a job seeker for landing in an interview. A resume is more than a document about yourself, your education, your hobbies, personal information.

A resume is a marketing document that is going to explain your potential to the employer; it needs to explain your expertise, your achievements, and your value to the employer.

A targeted resume is a resume that is specifically tailored for a single job role.

First, you need to understand the difference between a CV and a resume. Both are entirely different terms.

Only if you have the clarity you’ll be able to craft the document accurately. A resume format should be chronological or functional (if you have a career gap or skill based job like a teacher or professor in education institutes).

      Resume actually means “SUMMARY

Question. What are the characteristics of a summary?

Answer. Short and to the point

Question. What does a course of life include?

Answer. Everything including every minute details about your life

Here is a table that clearly explains the difference between a curriculum vitae and a resume:

      S.NoCurriculum VitaeResume
      12-20 pages long.1-2 pages long
2Usually the same for all jobs as it contains the entire course of your career.Modified accordingly to reflect skills, experience and qualifications relevant to the job you are applying for.
3Education is of priority and mentioned at the topEducation is not a priority
4.It is like a biography of an individual’s academic background and professional experiences. It is a snapshot of an individual’s professional profile.

So for landing in non-academic job interviews, you need a resume. A CV is needed for academic positions explaining your whole career. Today nearly 97% of organizations use Applicant tracking systems (ATS) for their recruitment process.

The reason is fierce competition. A single job posting attracts a minimum of 250+ applicants, in order to pick the best candidates for organizations to use ATS. Your resume should pass through this machine to reach a recruiters hand. Not only ATS, if you directly email the decision-maker (recruiter or hiring manager) and if it lacks strong content, it will be kept aside. You need to be the 1st choice and not an option.

We also recommend you to just go with the simple word format for resume building as some of the ATS won’t recognize the modern CV templates which has separations and stylings. This might affect in the CV filtering process.

HERE’S HOW TO WRITE A TARGETED RESUME

      #1 PROFESSIONAL SUMMARY FOR RESUME

The first section is your summary. Have you sat and thought about what would make a good summary? Almost 90% of the candidates either copy from Google or use the summary of a friend from their resume.

You need to think as this is the opening of your resume and only if this is branded the reader will move further down in the resume.

A good resume summary is a elevator pitch and helps the person who is reading understand about you and your expertise within minutes and that resume summary should be tailored in a proper way to attract the interviewer.

      • Describe your strong character traits in a couple of words.
      • Mention your current job title and professional experience.
      • Use action words.
      • Add info on your key achievements to prove you can deliver results when hired.
      • Limit it to 3 or 5 sentences and use numbers whenever possible.

      #2 ACHIEVEMENTS AND CAREER HIGHLIGHTS

This section is an important part of a resume as it showcases your career expertise to the employer. You may have achieved and target or reduced costs for the organization led a project, led a team or whatever.

If you are a working professional, there will be something you might have done, but you cannot recall the points. Sitting down and writing a resume isn’t exciting but trust me, 95% of the resumes are thrown out due to lack of information.

ALSO READ – 5 Reasons Why Every Professional Must Have a LinkedIn Profile

      #3 WORK EXPERIENCE

Now if you are an experienced professional, you need to include your achievements rather than just job responsibilities here, as the recruiter or hiring manager knows what responsibilities you would have had in that particular role. He/she would know how you added value to that role for that organization.

For example: If you are in charge of recruitment you could include something like “Contacted 55 candidates, 40 showed up and interviewed, 10 got an offer and 10 joined”.

Here, the recruiter understands your capacity, out of 55 candidates, 44 showed up, that’s close to 90% and all 10 candidates have joined that shows a 100% success rate.

So you will be a fit for the recruitment role. That’s how the work experience section works.

In case you are a fresh graduate, you can include your internship and project experience. What challenges did you face and what action did you take? What was the result? Combine it into a point in a crisp way. Your point will be effective.

      #4 ERRORLESS CONTENT

This is quite common in most resumes. Often you take the “n” number of hours to prepare a resume but while saving we fail to proofread for typos and spelling mistakes.

Most resumes getting rejected either by ATS or by a recruiter is because of spelling mistakes and typos.

Most recruiters use this as a reason when a candidate cannot take an initiative to proofread and send a proper resume, then how the candidate will add value to the organization. Or if it goes through ATS, the system rejects the application due to spelling mistakes thinking of it as a different word.

      #5 KEYWORDS

These words have been in the air since the boom of the internet era. Keywords are something that a person searches on the internet while looking for a solution. So what keywords have to do with a resume?

A recruiter while preparing the job description keys down certain skills and qualities for the ideal candidate. For example, let’s take a marketing role.

The keywords may be: increase sales, e-commerce, product launch, etc. So although you might have done these works, if you lack the proper words, you might miss out on the opportunities.

ALSO READ – 5 Reasons to Consider your Masters Program Abroad

      #6 PROFESSIONAL CONTENT

As said a resume is marketing explaining your expertise, here is the place where you showcase your professionalism as you are either going to enter the professional world or you are a professional already, your content tone should speak the same way to boost your personal brand. Okay, but how, let’s talk about the same example of recruitment here.

Instead of – Contacted 55 candidates, 40 showed up and interviewed, 10 got an offer and 10 joined

Try this – Approached 55 candidates, 40 appeared for the interview, 10 received offers, and all 10 candidates were onboarded.

#7 JOB SKILLS FOR A RESUME

This section is often ignored or little information is provided. The skills that you list in this section will help the interviewer understand your ability. 90% of the jobseekers stop with Microsoft Office, and Google Office. Sprinkle all your key skills, technical skills and make the resume a perfect one and be suitable candidate for the company.

Match your resume with the Job Description

      1. Review the job description.
      2. Pick out the key skills and keywords that are required on the resume.
      3. Make it a point to include those resume keywords on your resume, if they are applicable.
      4. Use it in the summary section, work experience, skills section, while explaining your project section.
      5. Make a match with the job description and customize your resume to the job description before you apply for the job.

Here is what a good resume format should look like

      A good resume format will need to have these sections to make through the recruiter’s eyes;

      1. Headline- Job Role
      2. Good resume summary
      3. Career Achievements
      4. Certifications or trainings
      5. Work Experience- Last 3-4 jobs mention in detail
      6. Skill Section
      7. Education
      8. Languages Known

      CONCLUSION

These are the important key points you need to keep in mind while preparing your perfect resume. Also, you need to know that only if your profile matches 60-70% with the job description you are considered as a fit. So tailoring your resume accordingly is important to land in an interview.

Queens Who Became Bosses: Women’s Day Special

      0

We have been celebrating International Women’s Day (IWD) on March 8 each year for over a century now. But this year’s women’s day is extra special since it’s the first IWD we are celebrating in the “new normal” world. A world that has undergone rapid changes socially, economically, culturally, politically, and of course, technologically. We now live in a world where 6 ft. away from each other is our comfort zone, face-masks and sanitizers are part of our cultures, and Mars is a flight away.

Although the pandemic tilted our world upside down forever, we are evolving to strike a balance by rethinking and remodelling our lives. Because “from challenge comes change” and it is only wise to remodel our lives the right way at least now. Hence, there is no better theme than ‘Women in Leadership: Achieving an Equal Future in a COVID-19 World’ for International Women’s Day 2021; because women too can be perfect leaders to achieve a better future. We too, can inspire, motivate, care for, and lead one another’s paths to success.

      Women’s Day Special

Having said that, we have decided to show our support and appreciation to few brave hearts that we know have inspired, motivated, and are leading their ways to success in various fields despite innumerable setbacks and challenges they face; because we too #ChooseToChallenge.

5 Strong Reasons Why yYou Should Study Abroad

WHY SHOULD I DO MY MASTERS'S ABROAD?
      HOW SHOULD I PROCEED?
WHAT ARE THE THINGS I SHOULD CONSIDER WHILE APPLYING?

I’ve been getting these questions since I’ve moved to the UK for my master’s. To answer all your questions, in short, studying abroad is considered one of the best ways to master yourself. However, some might be working and don’t want to come out of the comfort zone and some are quite hesitant to proceed further because of the cost of studying abroad, homesick and other personal reasons, etc. Hence, I’ve decided to share my experience as a series of posts. So without further ado, let me bring you the study abroad guide: 5 reasons why you should study your master’s abroad.

#1 SET YOURSELF APART FROM THE REST

High-quality education is also one of the important reason why you should consider studying abroad. Even though we have a good number of premier educational institutions in our country, it is an undeniable truth that countries like the US, UK, Germany, Singapore, Australia, etc. have many universities renowned for their excellent facilities, industry connections and funding. Securing a post-graduate degree at a foreign institution will also distinguish you from your competitors because of the very fact that you’ve left your comfort zone, which displays your self-reliance and adaptability in comparison to those who studied locally.

In addition, anyone can state that they “love to travel”, “can relocate” in their resume. But your study abroad experience will not only stand out from the crowd but also get you ahead of other applicants as you have already transplanted yourself into a foreign culture, language, socializing far away from home.

      #2 BOOST YOUR CAREER OPPORTUNITIES

Talking about the main reason for getting a degree abroad in the first place is to improve your career prospects. It gives you the chance to explore the foreign job market where opportunities are generally more rewarding🤑. I hope I’ll be able to land a suitable role in a prestigious company and earn some rewards too🤑🤑. Even if takes some time, you are welcome to stay back, find a job and work with a post-study work visa.

Countries like the US, UK, Canada, Germany, Australia, etc. fall under this list. However, some countries don’t provide you with enough time to settle and look for an opportunity there. Hence, I would recommend you to go for detailed research on stay back options while choosing the country.

Furthermore, having an international study experience will give you an advantage when it comes time to apply to jobs. Employers value your adaptability and flexibility that you’ll develop from going overseas.

      #3 ENHANCE YOUR NETWORK CONNECTIONS

Studying abroad will help you build invaluable friendships with people from all over the world. You will be able to live, learn, and travel together during your studies. Unfortunately, I haven’t experienced this so far as I’m still under lockdown since my arrival 6 months ago😕.

Aside from the personal connections, friends are also a great way to establish networking opportunities which could be beneficial for your future. Who knows, you might even meet your new business partner there. Having a wide network is an advantage, since your friends will most likely be the ones to help you when you need a job.

#4 DISCOVER NEW CULTURES, LANGUAGES, AND FOOD

In the fast-moving modern world, cross-cultural communication is evolving as one of the vital skills, and the individuals who possess it are in high demand. It requires real-life experience to gain this skill and cannot be learned from textbooks. Studying abroad will give you the opportunity to explore the other cultures in-depth. Learning a new language is always a challenge. But there is no better place than learning it from the place where it is spoken natively. Developing your language skills can have a positive impact on your career which may lead you into some job opportunities.

Yeah. You got it. F🤤🤤D. Visiting a new country will give you the opportunity to try new cuisines you may have tried before. Talking from my experience, you can only taste the traditional foods’ authentic taste in the native countries. If you find any taste difference in your ramen or tacos in the native country, well, that’s because your country people messed it up by adding extra toppings or flavourings.

      #5 DISCOVER YOURSELF

Last but not least, If you would like to truly find yourself, studying abroad will show you other hidden ways of life, while also forcing you to make more conscious decisions in the present. It may also bring out your undiscovered talents and interests. Whether it’s skiing, water sports, hiking, dancing, stage performances, etc. you can try out things you may have never got the chance to try back home.

To wrap it all up, becoming independent is a challenge. But living and studying in another country will mould you into an independent and adventurous adult🧗🏻‍♂️, ready to succeed in your future. These are only a few of the reasons why you should study abroad. But I’m sure that you will discover your own once you’ve gone abroad.

Paava Kadhaigal Review – Sudha Kongara’s Thangam

Paava Kadhaigal Review – Sudha Kongara’s Thangam – Until I had watched that very specific 30 minutes episode, my life had been different. People have a vague understanding of what the transgender community goes through every day. Sometimes we have seen them walk into shops asking for money. But we have never known how it feels like to be uncomfortable on the inside.

The world is a peculiar place. When people don’t understand something, they just belittle it. It’s how sexual identities have been defined since the days had begun. Transgender people are just people who want to live their lives normally. But we have *labelled* them and pushed them aside. And hats off to those who were able to crush the struggles and shine into a doctor, police officer, collector, and many other professions/passion.

Sathaar was a cutie. Kalidas Jayaram’s portrayal, Shanthanu’s love, Sudha Kongra’s direction, and the whole team, instead of screening a short episode, they flashed a possible depiction of their life in front of my eyes. Kalidas’s portrayal of Sathaar was magnificent, and it was one of the best acting I have ever come across. Shanthanu shined *in* his performance *~skills~* despite the limited screen period.

Paava Kadhaigal Review - Sudha Kongara's Thangam - Just A Library

When someone says, “CHII THU”, how does it feel? Apart from funny reasons, when someone means it, we feel undignified. This might have been their life on the streets and in their own houses. It has always been about what other people think, and not what our loved ones go through. When Sathaar said, “If I touch someone, they either take advantage of me or move away from me in disgust. Nobody has ever hugged me with love before”, I cried out loud. That very scene has been playing in a loop since I had completed the episode. Transgender people might or might not have gone through such agony, but the possibility of that even being true, hurts.

All-New Nissan Magnite – Big. Bold. Beautiful.

Nissan has launched its all-new Magnite which targets the mid size SUV segment buyers. Considering the developing craze for compact SUVs in the India market Nissan has launched its model to fill up their line up in this segment. Nissan has splashed it with an array of features and priced it aggressively to attract buyers of this segment.

        Nissan Magnite Exterior

The Exterior has a very sharp and bold design with slim LED headlamps, DRLs and led Fog lamps. It has a large grille up front, bold stance, roof rails, gladding all over, large wheel arches. Overall the design is quite attractive.

        Nissan Magnite Interior

On the interior the same bold design follows with a neat and simple dashboard. The seats are comfortable and offer good cushioning. On the rear there are 60:40 split seats and an arm rest with cup-holders. Overall fit and finish is good but there are some ergonomic issues.

Feature list of Nissan Magnite is quite long, some even being segment, like LED fog lamps, puddle lamps, 360 Degree Camera, Digital instrument cluster, Ambient lighting, Cruise control.

        Price

The Nissan Magnite Price in India varies between 4.99 Lakhs and 11.09 Lakhs (** Prices are in Rupees Ex-showroom Delhi) .

The Nissan Magnite in overall is a good package with decent power and features at a affordable price. The disadvantage of Nissan has always been its Dealer network and Customer service which needs to improve, hoping Nissan will develop a strong dealership, Nissan Magnite SUV might pave way for newer models from the manufacture by establishing a vast sale.
